What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?

It seems inevitable that as the new year approaches-we all start thinking about it as a clean slate-a chance to start over. With the housing market in turmoil and the high cost of gas prices, on this New Year’s Eve, I encourage you to really start thinking about that old saying, health, wealth and happiness.

How is your financial wealth? Is it healthy or does it need some serious attention? If so, that make your new year’s resolution to become fiscally healthy. Your local credit union can help. Compare what rates are out there-like interest checking, money market accounts, etc. Are you making wise decisions and thinking long term or do you hop around to see how you can make money the fastest. With the twists and turns in our current economic state, it may make the most sense to start thinking long-term.

See where you can cut costs on those extraneous expenses, are they really necessary? And see what you could save monthly-it could really be the key to your financial health and wealth in 2009.

Whatever your resolution may be,  I wish you and yours a healthy and wealthy Happy New Year filled with happiness.

Talk to you, next year!

COMING SOON … Give With Us

This time of year, always seems to put me in the giving spirit and that’s why I’m excited to announce that we have found another way to give back to our members and to the Licking County community.

I am very excited to share that we just recently received word that we have been awarded a grant through the Ohio Credit Union League’s Foundation to start up Give With Us.

What is Give With Us? In a nutshell, it’s a web-based blog site that connects credit union members with volunteer opportunities, interest groups and local events in their communities. This site will be created by the Trabian company and will allow any visitor from Licking County, members and non-members, to post their information for volunteer events and activities they find appealing.

When it comes right down to it folks, the credit union philosophy is all about people helping people, and what better way to do that, then right here in our own backyard. You’ll be able to access Give With Us, just like you do our blog, via our website in early January.

So whether you’re part of a school, service organization, charity, etc. You will soon have a new resource to post your community volunteer activities and events. I look forward to sharing more about this project in the coming weeks.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
